Election season has finally at an end… for now. January we will start full force on City Elections and I have noticed something that I think we need to look at.
As many of my readers know, I normally vote Republican. On the rare occasion I have walked over that line and voted Democrat a few times. Shhh, don’t tell my grandmother. Being a part of the Republican party here in Knoxville we have all these wonderful Republican meetings to learn about who is running and what we can do to help. The meetings are designed for like-minded people to get together and make changes for the better in our great city. The problem I’m finding is we have quantity over quality. We have a group in every area of Knoxville, but not enough people attended them to really have so many. Don’t get me wrong, the West Knoxville Republicans meeting is huge and the Center City Republican Club also brings in a very large crowd. Unfortunately, we have many groups that only have 6 members on some months. Should we shut them down and try to combine these smaller groups to build a more fierce and powerful Republican name? I think so, but just like this blog you get what you paid for and this advice is free. So take it or leave it.
