Open Streets, Opens Your Heart

Hello Loves,

Let’s talk Open Streets, this event took place this past Sunday and it was the perfect combination fun for children and adults. For those of you who don’t know Open Streets, is when the city shuts down a few streets in an area and they have pretty much a big community party. Local Businesses set up booths for you to learn about what they do to help the community and food trucks are set up for all your hunger needs, but that’s not even the best part. The best part is that you’re encouraged to bring your family and ride your bike, walk or even roller skate. It was so refreshing to see so many families unplugged and enjoying their community at this event.

Also at this event I saw many Knox County commissioners and City Council members walking around with their families enjoying the event and answering questions if anyone had any, but this way in no shape or form a political event.

I love events like this because if you don’t live in that area you can go and learn about different businesses that you might have never known about and it opens your eyes to a whole different side of Knoxville.

Friends of the Library Had a great Kid set up from Bubbles to games

So loves, get out and enjoy this event the next time it comes around! You might even see your go to girl there!
