Just because we aren’t in session doesn’t mean our State Senators are not working hard for us. A new law that was sponsored by our very own Senator Becky Duncan Massey has caught my eye. Massey sponsored the bill that requires those under 21 years old to have their license printed vertically instead of horizontally.
It’s been noticed that the red bar that states you are too young to drink on the old license was to hard to read. This will make it easier to tell their age and not serve them alcohol. This was passed in May but did not go into effect until July. Hopefully this will take our excessive drinking death number down from the high normal of 4,300 a year in the state of Tennessee. All in all keeping our teens and our roads safe. Thank you Senator Massey!
